Dieser kurze Hymnus aus zwei Mantras verehrt Ṛc und Sāman als lebendige, wirkmächtige Formen heiliger Rede, die rituelles Handeln ermöglichen und das Opfer zu den Göttern tragen. अध्यापकविघ्नशमनम्। ऋचं॒ साम॑ यजामहे॒ याभ्यां॒ कर्मा॑णि कु॒र्वते॑ । ए॒ते सद॑सि राजतो य॒ज्ञं दे॒वेषु॑ यच्छतः
Wir verehren Ṛc und Sāman; durch diese beiden vollbringen die Menschen ihre Riten. Diese zwei leuchten in der Versammlung; sie geleiten das Opfer zu den Göttern.

ऋचं॒ साम॒ यदप्रा॑क्षं ह॒विरोजो॑ यजु॒र्बल॑म्। ए॒ष मा॒ तस्मा॒न्मा हिं॑सी॒द् वेदः॑ पृ॒ष्टः श॑चीपते
Ṛc und Sāman — wonach ich gefragt habe: Opfergabe-Kraft, Yajus-Macht. Möge mich darum der Veda, wenn er befragt wird, nicht verletzen, o Herr der Kraft (Śacīpati).
