manye khalu mayā pūrvaṃ vivatsā bahavaḥ kṛtāḥ | prāṇino hiṃsitā vāpi tasmād idam upasthitam || 2.39.4 ||

Translation

“Ta nghĩ rằng thuở trước chính ta đã khiến nhiều kẻ phải mất con, hoặc đã làm hại các loài hữu tình; bởi vậy tai ương này nay mới đến với ta.”
