Varāha
It preserves a common Purāṇic narrative convention: a revered figure acknowledges a petitioner’s ritual and devotional acts (praise, devotion, tīrtha-bathing) and formally invites the request, reflecting the social-religious practice of tīrtha culture and teacher–inquirer dialogue.
No specific tīrtha is named in this verse; it refers generically to a tīrtha (a sacred ford or pilgrimage site). Identification requires adjacent verses that specify the location.
The verse foregrounds an ethics of disciplined approach—devotion (bhakti), respectful speech (stuti), and ritual purification (tīrtha-snāna)—as culturally valued preparations before making a request in a teacher–disciple or deity–sage dialogue.
