सपत्न्या तु गरस्तस्यै दत्तो गर्भजिघांसया।गरेण सह तेनैव जात स्स सगरोऽभवत्।।।।
sapatnyā tu garas tasyai datto garbha-jighāṁsayā |
gareṇa saha tenaiva jātaḥ sa sagaro ’bhavat ||
مگر اس کی سوتن نے، رحم میں پلتے ہوئے جنین کو ہلاک کرنے کی نیت سے، اسے ‘گَر’ یعنی زہر دے دیا۔ اسی زہر کے ساتھ وہ بچہ پیدا ہوا، اس لیے اس کا نام ‘سَگَر’ پڑ گیا۔
With a motive to destroy the embryo her co-wife had poisoned her. That child was born with gara or poison for which he was called Sagara.
