द्विता व्यूर्ण्वन्नमृतस्य धाम स्वर्विदे भुवनानि प्रथन्त । धियः पिन्वानाः स्वसरे न गाव ऋतायन्तीरभि वावश्र इन्दुम् ॥
dvitā́ vy ūrṇván amṛ́tasya dhā́ma svaḥ-víde bhúvanāni prathanta | dhíyaḥ pinvānā́ḥ svásare ná gā́va ṛtā́yantīr abhí vāvaśre índum ||
In a twofold way he unveils the home of immortality and widens the worlds for the finder of heaven. The thoughts, swelling like cows in their pasture, moving by ṛta, press toward and hasten around Indu.
Soma reveals (vyūrṇvan) amṛtasya dhāma—the abode/state of immortality—in a twofold manner (dvitā): (1) by purification of the lower nature (waters/flows) and (2) by illumination of the higher mind (svar). For the svar-vid (finder of the luminous heaven), he expands the inner worlds (bhuvanāni prathanta): capacities of mind, life, and soul widen. The dhī (inspired thoughts) swell (pinvānāḥ) like cows in their own pasture (svasare): rays of knowledge become fertile and self-sustaining. Moving according to ṛta (ṛtāyantīḥ), they press toward and circulate around Indu—delight at the center—so that joy becomes the organizing nucleus of a truth-governed cognition.
Immortality is approached by a double movement—purification and illumination. When truth governs our thought, inspirations multiply naturally and gather around an inner delight that becomes the stable center of a widened life.
revelation/unveiling, expansion of consciousness, cows as rays of knowledge, Soma as catalyst of immortality
This verse is doctrinal in tone—typical of pavamāna seers who map inner ascent: svar-discovery, widening worlds, and ṛta-governed dhī around Soma.
Gives a compact psychology of realization: revelation of immortality by a double movement, expansion of inner planes, and the organizing role of delight as the center of truth-thinking.
Reveals immortality, widens inner worlds, and becomes the luminous center around which ṛta-moving inspirations gather.
Ananda as revelatory: it opens the ‘home of immortality’ and organizes cognition into truth-law.

Expansive, unfolding rhythm matching ‘widening worlds’ and ‘unveiling’.
Creates spaciousness; encourages a sense of revelation and orderly circulation of thoughts around a luminous center.
Pavamāna Soma chants during filtration; supports the ‘unveiling’ and ‘expansion’ motifs of the rite as inner opening.
During Soma purification/flow; especially apt when seeking ‘svar’ and expansive clarity in the rite.
Recitation while Soma is strained and collected; aligns the sacrificer with immortality symbolism.
Meditation mantra for unveiling higher consciousness: use when seeking spaciousness, intuitive clarity, and stable joy as the organizing center.
(dvitā) from dvi ‘two’ suggests a characteristic RV trope of double manifestation (two births, two worlds). √ūrṇu (ūrṇvan) ‘to unfold, open out’ conveys revelation. (a-mṛta) ‘non-death’ from √mṛ ‘to die’. (prathanta) from √prath ‘to spread, widen’. (pinvānāḥ) from √pīv/√pinv ‘to swell, make abound’. ṛta-yantīḥ combines ṛta ‘right order’ + √yam ‘to go, move, restrain’ → ‘right-going’.
Amṛta (immortality), Ṛta (cosmic order/right movement), expansion of worlds (prath)
Explicit: ṛtāyantīḥ—thoughts moving by ṛta are the condition for stable revelation and widening.
Unveiling implies removal of false coverings; truth becomes the law of movement.
Cosmic expansion mirrored inwardly: worlds widen for the svar-finder; immortality-home is revealed.
Proto-Upaniṣadic Vedānta + Aurobindonian ascent: planes widen, center of Ananda organizes truth-thinking.
Pasture = native luminous field of consciousness; cows = rays/knowledges; circling = harmonized mental movement around Ananda; unveiling = removal of subconscious coverings.
Twofold inner movement: (1) purify (release coverings), (2) open to higher light; then rest in a central joy while thoughts move by ṛta.
ajna (svar-finding) and sahasrara (amṛtasya dhāma)
alternate nostril breathing 6 rounds (twofold balance), then silent sitting with gentle awareness at crown
spacious, unveiled, harmonized; thoughts circulate without agitation around a luminous center.
Chant 7 times; after each, pause and sense ‘widening worlds’ in the body (space in chest, throat, brow). Conclude by resting attention in a quiet joy at the heart/brow as the ‘Indu-center’.
Tri-svara; give calm prominence to amṛtasya dhāma and ṛtāyantīḥ; keep the unfolding feel in prathanta.
Open vowels on vyūrṇvan and prathanta to suggest ‘unveiling’ and ‘widening’; maintain steady pace in the last pāda to evoke circling harmony.
Dvitā: retroflex ṭ? (here dental t) keep short i; long ā, Vyūrṇvan: v+yū; ṛṇv cluster—do not drop ṇ, Svarvide: sv cluster clean; v soft, Ṛtāyantīḥ: initial ṛ rolled; long īḥ at end
spacious, even, reverent; let resonance bloom in the chest and crown.
