Sukta 1.6

Rishi: Madhucchandas Vaiśvāmitra (traditional attribution for RV 1.1–1.11; hymn RV 1.6 commonly ascribed to him)
Devata: Indra (with the Indra-invocation context of RV 1.6; verse calls the all-moving Indra to the rite)
Chandas: Gāyatrī (3 x 8 syllables; typical for early Indra hymns in Mandala 1)

अतः परिज्मन्ना गहि दिवो वा रोचनादधि । समस्मिन्नृञ्जते गिरः ॥

Sanskrit recitationRig Veda 1.6.9

átaḥ parijmánnā́ gahi divó vā rocanā́d ádhi | sám asmin ṛñjate gíraḥ ||

Therefore, O thou who movest on every side, come hither—either from the luminous world of heaven or from its radiant realm above; in this (our offering and our being) the inspired words are being set in harmony and made ready for thee.
