การทำลายอสูร. ด้วยหนทางใด โอ โสมะ ที่อทิติ และเหล่ามิตรผู้ไม่คิดร้าย ดำเนินไป—ด้วยหนทางนั้นเอง ขอท่านจงมาหาเราพร้อมความคุ้มครองอันช่วยให้รอด

येन॑ सोम साह॒न्त्यासु॑रान् र॒न्धया॑सि नः । तेना॑ नो॒ अधि॑ वोचत

ด้วยฤทธิ์อันใด โอ โสมะ ที่เขาทั้งหลายพิชิตอสูรได้—ด้วยฤทธิ์นั้นเอง ขอท่านจงปราบ (พวกเขา) เพื่อพวกเรา; และด้วยฤทธิ์นั้น ขอท่านจงประกาศอย่างมีอำนาจเหนือพวกเรา.

ด้วยอุบายใดเหล่าเทพได้เลือกเอาพลังและเดชของอสูรมาเป็นของตน ด้วยอุบายเดียวกันนั้น ขอจงประทานความคุ้มครองอันร่มเย็น (śarman) แก่พวกเราเถิด
