Determination of the Origin and Procedure of the Ancestral Offering

कण्ठस्थानं गते जीवे भीतिविभ्रान्तमानसः ॥ ज्ञात्वा च विह्वलं तत्र शीघ्रं निःसारयेद्गृहात् ॥ १०१ ॥ कुशास्तरणशायी च दिशः सर्वा न पश्यति ॥ लब्धस्मृतिर्मुहूर्तं तु यावज्जीवो न पश्यति ॥
kaṇṭhasthānaṃ gate jīve bhītivibhrāntamānasaḥ || jñātvā ca vihvalaṃ tatra śīghraṃ niḥsārayed gṛhāt || 101 || kuśāstaraṇaśāyī ca diśaḥ sarvā na paśyati || labdhasmṛtir muhūrtaṃ tu yāvaj jīvo na paśyati ||
జీవం కంఠస్థానానికి చేరినప్పుడు మనస్సు భయంతో కలవరపడి దిక్కుతెలియని స్థితిలో ఉంటుంది. ఆ వేళ కలతను గ్రహించి అతనిని త్వరగా ఇంటి నుండి బయటకు తీసుకురావాలి. కుశగడ్డి పరుపుపై పడుకోబెట్టినప్పుడు అతడు దిశలను చూడలేడు; క్షణకాలం స్మృతి వచ్చినా జీవికి స్పష్టంగా గ్రహణం ఉండదు.
