dṛṣṭvā māṃ divyarūpaṃ tu gato’sau mathurāṃ purīm || dṛṣṭaś cāgre tv ahaṃ tena puruṣo divyarūpavān ||
Varāha (narrative voice; first-person self-reference)
It provides a Purāṇic witness to Mathurā’s status as a significant sacred city and preserves a narrative pattern of divine encounter during pilgrimage.
Mathurā, an ancient city in the Yamunā region, widely identified with modern Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The verse suggests that disciplined devotion and movement through sacred space culminate in transformative encounters, framed as a moral-spiritual reward within the narrative.
