The Greatness of the Śālagrāma Sacred Region
tatra snānaṃ prakurvīta sapta rātroṣito naraḥ || rājā bhavati suśroṇi savāryudhakalānvitaḥ ||
Varāha (default, addressing Pṛthivī as interlocutor)
It shows how Purāṇic texts connect sacred observance with socio-political ideals (kingship, military capacity), revealing cultural values embedded in pilgrimage narratives.
The verse refers to the same tīrtha context (“there”), without a distinct new place-name in this line.
Discipline over time (a seven-night observance) is foregrounded as a model of committed practice rather than immediate reward.
