Sukta 8.3
शग्धी न इन्द्र यत्त्वा रयिं यामि सुवीर्यम् । शग्धि वाजाय प्रथमं सिषासते शग्धि स्तोमाय पूर्व्य ॥
śagdhī na indra yát tvā rayíṃ yā́mi su-vī́ryam | śagdhí vājā́ya prathamáṃ sisāsate śagdhí stomā́ya pū́rvya ||
ఓ ఇంద్రా, మా కొరకు సమర్థుడవై ఉండు—ఎందుకంటే నేను నీ వద్ద రయి (సమృద్ధి) కోసం వస్తున్నాను; అది సువీర్య (ఉత్తమ వీర్యం/ఆత్మపరాక్రమం). వాజ (బలం-పూర్ణత) ను మొదటిగా గెలుచుకోవాలని యత్నించువారికోసం సమర్థుడవై ఉండు; మా ప్రాచీన స్తోమ (స్తుతి-హిమ్నం) కొరకూ సమర్థుడవై ఉండు.
