Sukta 7.91
कुविदङ्ग नमसा ये वृधासः पुरा देवा अनवद्यास आसन् । ते वायवे मनवे बाधितायावासयन्नुषसं सूर्येण ॥
kúvid áṅga námasā yé vṛdhā́saḥ purā́ devā́ anavadyā́sa ā́san | té vāyáve mánave bādhitā́ya avāsayan uṣásaṃ sū́ryeṇa ||
Soma hymn prelude/invocation: recalling ancestral divine action as warrant for present aid; suitable for calling Vāyu to the Soma offering
ancestral precedent (purā) as ritual authority, removal of obstruction (bādhā), illumined order in the human (Manu)
The blameless gods act according to ṛta; their act of seating dawn with sun is an installation of right order in consciousness.
Sūrya represents satya-vision; joining with Uṣas makes satya active in waking life.
Establishing light in the human world—microcosmic creation: from obstruction to ordered illumination.
Aurobindonian: Uṣas as opening illumination; Sūrya as supramental truth; Vāyu as prāṇa enabling the descent/establishment.
dawn moving into sunrise
Wind=prāṇa; dawn=awakening insight; sun=stable truth-consciousness; obstruction=covering resistance in the subconscient.
In obstruction, unite awakening with stable truth-vision; let breath carry the transition.
Ājñā (Sūrya truth-vision) with Anāhata (breath as Vāyu)
Gentle dawn-breath: inhale imagining rosy Uṣas rising; exhale imagining Sūrya’s steady golden disc settling in the brow.
From doubt/pressure to luminous steadiness.
Begin with a sincere bow (namasā). Recall a time you were helped ‘from beyond’. Chant, then sit 3 minutes: feel breath as Vāyu, and let the first light (Uṣas) become a stable seeing (Sūrya) rather than a fleeting mood.
Mixed Vedic accents; interrogative ‘kuvit’ often carried with a slight lift; maintain distinct accents on vāyave, uṣasam, sūryeṇa.
Let the first pāda sound like a question, then shift to narrative certainty in pādas 3–4.
: final t is crisp (ku-vit), : na-va-dyāḥ with dy conjunct, : long ā; dh is aspirated, : ava-ā-sa-yan (sandhi feel), keep v clear
Reflective, clear, slightly softer on the opening question, fuller on the concluding image.
