Sukta 7.86
पृच्छे तदेनो वरुण दिदृक्षूपो एमि चिकितुषो विपृच्छम् । समानमिन्मे कवयश्चिदाहुरयं ह तुभ्यं वरुणो हृणीते ॥
pṛ́cche tád éno váruṇa didṛ́kṣū́po émi cikítuṣo ví-pṛccham | samānám ín me kaváyaś cid āhur ayáṃ ha túbhyaṃ váruṇo hṛṇīte ||
ఆ ఏనో (దోషం/పాపం) గురించి నేను అడుగుతున్నాను, ఓ వరుణా—దాన్ని స్పష్టంగా చూడాలని కోరుతూ; తెలిసినవాడి దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి ప్రశ్నిస్తున్నాను. కవి-ఋషులూ నాకు అదే చెబుతున్నారు—‘ఈ వరుణుడు నిజంగా నీపై రుష్టుడయ్యాడు’; నా ప్రస్తుత స్థితి నుండి ఋతం (నియమం/ధర్మక్రమం) ముఖం తిప్పినట్టుగా.
