Sukta 53
मेमं प्रा॒णो हा॑सी॒न्मो अ॑पा॒नोऽव॒हाय॒ परा॑ गात्। स॒प्त॒र्षिभ्य॑ एनं॒ परि॑ ददामि॒ त ए॑नं स्व॒स्ति ज॒रसे॑ वहन्तु
mā́ imáṃ prāṇó hāsīn mó u apānó ’vahā́ya párā gāt | saptárṣibhya enam pári dadāmi té enam svastí járase vahantu
Let not the in-breath abandon this man; let not the out-breath, bearing him away, depart afar. To the Seven Seers I commit him round about: may they convey him in safe-conduct unto old age.
ఈ మనిషిని ప్రాణం విడువకుండుగాక; అపానం అతనిని మోసుకొని దూరంగా వెళ్లి విడిచి పోకుండుగాక. నేను అతనిని చుట్టూరా సప్తర్షులకు అప్పగిస్తున్నాను; వారు అతనిని స్వస్తి (రక్షణ)తో జరా (వృద్ధాప్యం) వరకు చేర్చుగాక.
