Sukta 35
paráṃ yóner ávaraṃ te kṛṇómi mā́ tvā prajā́bhir bhūn mótá sūnúḥ | ásvaṃ tvā́ ’prajasaṃ kṛṇómy aśmā́naṃ te apidhā́naṃ kṛṇómi ||
The upper and the lower of thy womb I set in order: let not offspring oppress thee, nor yet a son. Barren, without progeny, I make thee; a stone for thee I make as covering-stopper.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (as per Anukramaṇī for 7.35)
Devata: Apidhāna/Aśman (functional ‘deity’ of closure); the yoni as ritual focus
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (probable)
Primary: raudra
Secondary: bhayankara
