गृध्रस्तु सप्त वर्षाणि जायते खचरॆश्वरः ॥ चरन्तौ मानुषं मांसमुभौ तौ गृध्रजम्बुकौ ॥

கழுகு ஏழு ஆண்டுகள் வானில் செல்லுவோரின் தலைவனாகப் பிறக்கிறது; மேலும் அந்த இருவரும்—கழுகும் நரியும்—மனித மாம்சம் உண்டு அலைகின்றனர்.
