Sukta 8.40
तं शिशीता सुवृक्तिभिस्त्वेषं सत्वानमृग्मियम् । उतो नु चिद्य ओजसा शुष्णस्याण्डानि भेदति जेषत्स्वर्वतीरपो नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
táṃ śiśītā suvṛ́ktibhis tveṣáṃ satvā́nam ṛ́gmiyam | utó nu cíd yá ójasā śúṣṇasyā́ṇḍāni bhédati jéṣat svàr-vatīr apó nábhantām anyaké samé ||
நன்கு அமைந்த சொற்களால் அவனைத் தீட்டுங்கள்—அந்த வேகமிகு, வலிமைமிகு, ருக்மிய (ஸ்தோத்திரத்திற்குரிய) ஒருவனை। ஏனெனில் தன் ஓஜஸால் ஶுஷ்ணனின் முட்டைகளை உடைப்பவன் இப்போதும் ஸ்வர்வதீ (ஒளிமிகு விண்ணைத் தாங்கும்) ஆபஃ—நீரோட்டங்களை—வென்று கொள்வான்; அதே வெளியில் மற்றவை அனைத்தும் சிதறிப் போகட்டும்.
