Sukta 1.73
ऋतस्य हि धेनवो वावशानाः स्मदूध्नीः पीपयन्त द्युभक्ताः । परावतः सुमतिं भिक्षमाणा वि सिन्धवः समया सस्रुरद्रिम् ॥
ṛtásya hí dhenávo vāvaśānā́ḥ smád-ū́dhnīḥ pī́payanta dyú-bhaktāḥ | parāvátaḥ su-matíṃ bhíkṣamāṇā ví síndhavaḥ samáyā sasrúr ádrim ||
ஏனெனில் ‘ருத’த்தின் (Ṛta) பசுக்கள், மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் முழங்கிக்கொண்டு, எங்களுக்காக தங்கள் மடிகளை நிரப்புகின்றன—ஒளிப் பங்குகளை (த்யுபக்த) வழங்குகின்றன. ‘பராவத்’ (தூரப் புறம்) இலிருந்து ‘சுமதி’ (நல்ல மனநிலை/சரியான அறிவு) யை வேண்டிக்கொண்டு, நதிகள் பிரிந்தும் சேர்ந்தும் ஓடி, ‘அத்ரி’ (தடைப் பாறை) யைத் துளைத்து செல்கின்றன.
