tasmād ārabhya kālaṃ tu matpraṇīteṣu sattama | śāstreṣv abhirato loko bāhulyena bhaved ataḥ || 70.39 ||
«С того времени и далее, о лучший из праведных, люди по большей части будут преданы шастрам и установлениям, провозглашённым мною».
Varāha
It reflects a Purāṇic self-referential theme: the legitimation and dissemination of normative textual traditions (śāstra) attributed to an authoritative speaker, indicating how communities conceptualized the spread of learned disciplines.
No geographic location is named in this verse; the focus is on temporal change (“from that time onward”) and the adoption of śāstra.
The verse emphasizes commitment to śāstra—structured, authoritative disciplines—as a guiding framework for collective conduct and learning, presented as a general cultural shift rather than a coercive command.
