रदत्पथो वरुणः सूर्याय प्रार्णांसि समुद्रिया नदीनाम् । सर्गो न सृष्टो अर्वतीॠतायञ्चकार महीरवनीरहभ्यः ॥

rádat pátho váruṇaḥ sū́ryāya prá ā́rṇāṃsi samudríyā nadī́nām | sárgo ná sṛṣṭó árvātīr ṛtā-yáñ cakā́ra mahī́r avanī́r áha-bhyaḥ ||

Varuṇa talhou os caminhos para o Sol; fez avançar as correntes caudalosas dos rios que correm para o oceano. Como uma soltura, uma vez desatada, fez as águas correntes seguirem na linha do ṛta; moldou as vastas campinas da terra para os dias — para que a vida prossiga em amplitude ordenada.
