Sukta 3.53
किं ते कृण्वन्ति कीकटेषु गावो नाशिरं दुह्रे न तपन्ति घर्मम् । आ नो भर प्रमगन्दस्य वेदो नैचाशाखं मघवन्रन्धया नः ॥
kíṃ te kṛṇvanti kī́kaṭeṣu gā́vo ná āśíraṃ duhré ná tapanti gharmám | ā́ no bhara prá-magandasya védो naicāśā́khaṃ maghavan randhayā naḥ ||
Que fazem teus raios de Luz entre os Kīkaṭa, onde as vacas não ordenham rica essência nem acendem o morno ardor do ghr̥ta? Traz-nos o Veda, o verdadeiro saber, daquele que se move em fragrância desviada; e, ó Maghavan, subjuga para nós o rebento sem ramos, estranho, que não pertence à linhagem reta.
