'Chroń nas, o Prajāpati, chroń wszystkich bogów oraz najznakomitszych mędrców, którzy popadli w lęk z powodu asurów.' Tak go nakłaniali, wołając: 'Chroń! Chroń!'
Narrator (contextual; default dialogue frame not explicit in this fragment)
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative pattern in which devas and ṛṣis articulate a crisis (often framed as asura-threat) and formally petition a higher authority for protection, illustrating how Purāṇas structure authority, legitimacy, and communal vulnerability.
No geographic location is named in this verse; it is situational and focuses on an appeal for protection rather than sacred geography.
The verse foregrounds the duty of protection (rakṣaṇa) toward vulnerable communities—here, devas and sages—presented as a normative expectation of a legitimate cosmic ruler (Prajāpati).
