Sukta 8.5
वावृधाना शुभस्पती दस्रा हिरण्यवर्तनी । पिबतं सोम्यं मधु ॥
vāvṛdhānā́ śúbhaspatī dasrā́ hiráṇyavartanī | píbatam sómyaṃ mádhu ||
Wiecznie wzrastający, panowie piękna i harmonijnej mocy, o cudowni o złotych krążących ścieżkach, pijcie miód somy, rozkosz, która oczyszcza i wznosi świadomość.
Explicit Soma offering: invitation to drink at the pressing; aligns with Aśvin share in the rite.
increase (vṛdh) as growth of consciousness, ānanda/delight (madhu) as harmonizing principle
Hiraṇyavartanī suggests r̥ta as right-circling movement—energy that turns naturally toward truth and harmony.
Golden movement is the signature of truth-light manifesting in action and feeling.
Delight as a creative substance; soma as immortalizing principle that supports growth.
Ananda-centered Vedic mysticism resonant with later Upaniṣadic ‘raso vai saḥ’ (Brahman as rasa).
dawn-morning (soma-drinking)
Honey/soma = sweetness of higher consciousness; golden courses = luminous circulation of force in nāḍīs; dawn = awakening joy.
Assimilate delight: feel a nectar-like sweetness descending and circulating, harmonizing mind and life.
Sahasrara/Bindu (nectar) with Anahata (beauty-harmony)
Slow coherent breathing (5–6 breaths/min). Chant softly on the exhale; pause briefly after ‘madhu’ to taste inner sweetness.
Receptive, bliss-touched quietude.
Offer the day’s effort inwardly as soma; then sit in stillness 5–10 minutes, sensing a ‘golden turning’ of energy—gentle, luminous circulation replacing strain.
Ṛgvedic accents; keep the final imperative ‘pibatam’ clear and gently emphatic.
Soften on ‘śubhas patī’ (beauty), brighten on ‘hiraṇyavartanī’ (golden movement), and settle into sweetness on ‘somyaṃ madhu’.
vāvṛdhānā: keep ṛ as vocalic ‘ri’ (not ‘ar’); long ā endings, śubhas: palatal ś; light aspiration if present in tradition, hiraṇya: retroflex ṇ; clear ‘ya’, pibatam: short ‘i’; dental ‘t’
Soft, warm, nectar-like resonance; minimal force, maximum clarity.
