Outer meaning

Indra is asked to move widely and swiftly according to his own law through the human tribes, following their invocations; and to drink the pressed Soma.

Inner meaning

The illumined Mind-force is invited to circulate through all parts of the human nature (‘kṛṣṭīnāṃ’), not remaining confined to a single peak experience. ‘Svadhā’ is Indra’s inherent power-law: his spontaneous right functioning in us. When he follows our true calls (āhūvaḥ)—aspiration and sincere invocation—he drinks Soma: he takes up the Ananda we have prepared, and that delight becomes fuel for his action of illumination and victorious ordering in the being.

Universal truth

When we consistently call the higher intelligence into every domain of life, it begins to act everywhere, guided by its own higher law. Joy then becomes not escape, but the energy that sustains right action.

Themes

Invocation, Soma drinking, Divine movement in the many, Inner integration of parts
