Sukta 8.32
यः संस्थे चिच्छतक्रतुरादीं कृणोति वृत्रहा । जरितृभ्यः पुरूवसुः ॥
yáḥ saṃsthé cíc chatákratur ā́d ī́ṃ kṛṇóti vṛtrahā́ | jaritṛ́bhyaḥ purūvásuḥ ||
On, który nawet w ustalonym spokoju, stusprytny Zabójca przeszkody, nagle czyni drogę; dla śpiewaków staje się dawcą wielu bogactw bytu.
Praise of Indra’s decisive intervention (combat/help) and reward to jaritṛs; used to affirm Indra’s reliability to respond with gifts when invoked.
obstruction (vṛtra) vs. revelation, kratu as effective will aligned to Rita, reward of the Word (jaritṛ) through divine response
Indra’s act of ‘making the way’ is the restoration of movement of ṛta where it is obstructed.
Breakthrough implies truth-force piercing settled appearances.
Release and re-formation of pathways in consciousness; opening of channels for the waters/rays.
Proto-Vedāntic / Integral-yogic reading (Aurobindo/Kashyap): gods as powers of consciousness.
From a stable plateau of practice, the ‘cover’ can still be split and a new channel of progress opened; the ‘many riches’ are inner attainments (vasu) released by illumination.
Invoke Indra as the inner power that breaks the ‘cover’ and opens a new passage in practice.
ājñā (illumined mind)
Moderate japa on exhale with a brief pause after ‘āt īm’ to feel the ‘sudden opening’.
From steady concentration to dynamic illumination.
When you feel stuck despite stability, offer the ‘praise’ (clear intention) and call the Indric force to act; then watch for a new, practical inner ‘way’ rather than forcing old routes.
Notated svara unavailable in provided text; chant with Vedic-style rise on key epithets (śatakratuḥ, vṛtrahā) and a marked lift at ‘āt īm’.
Emphasize compounds: śa-ta-kra-tuḥ; vṛ-tra-hā; pu-rū-va-suḥ. Keep ‘saṃsthe’ nasalization clear.
Maintain ṛ in vṛtra (vṛ-tra), not ‘virtra’., Aspirate correctly: hā in vṛtrahā is long ā., Keep retroflex ṭ in śatakratuḥ (kratu with dental t; śata has dental t).
Firm, bright, forward resonance (invocatory).
