Ten jednowierszowy hymn rakṣoghna chroni wznoszący bieg Słońca, identyfikując wrogie siły, które próbują "skrzywdzić" lub zablokować Sūryę podczas jego wznoszenia. Poprzez zjednoczenie Sūryi z Agnim Jātavedasem, blaskiem jako świadomą ognistą mocą, nakazuje, aby napastnicy zostali pokonani przez żar (haras) i płomień (arciṣ), usuwając przeszkody i przywracając nieskrępowany wznos.
It is used to repel hostile or obstructive forces—especially those that ‘block ascent’—by invoking the Sun’s radiance as a fierce, protective fire-power (Jātavedas).
Because the hymn treats sunlight and fire as one luminous power: Sūrya’s ascent is protected by Agni’s knowing, burning force that can strike down malign beings.
