He who, being born, overspread the Earth, who set the Ocean in the mid-air—of that God: this is the offence against the wrathful One, whoso, thus knowing, injureth a learned Brahman. Up—make him tremble, O Rohita; waste him away: in requital loose forth the nooses upon the Brahma-hurter.
On, który narodzony, rozpostarł Ziemię, który umieścił Ocean w powietrzu, tego Boga: to jest występek przeciwko Gniewnemu, kto tak wiedząc, krzywdzi uczonego Brahmana. Wstań, spraw, by drżał, o Rohita; wyniszcz go: w odwecie uwolnij pęta na krzywdziciela Brahmy.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (anukramaṇī attribution uncertain in this extract)
Devata: A cosmogonic ‘that god’ (tásya devásya), with Rohita as executing power
Chandas: Mixed/irregular; curse-refrain style
Primary: raudra
Secondary: adbhuta
