Soma Pavamāna
ਇਹ ਛੋਟਾ ਪਵਮਾਨ ਭਜਨ ਸੋਮ ਦੀ ਸਤੁਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪੀੜਿਆ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ ਦੇ ਛਾਣਣੀ-ਫਿਲਟਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਗਦਿਆਂ ਨਦੀ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਛਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੋਮ ਦੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ, ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ-ਭਰੇ ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋਣ ਨੂੰ—ਜੋ ਜਿੱਤੂ ਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਵਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ—ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Mantra 1
उत्ते शुष्मास ईरते सिन्धोरूर्मेरिव स्वनः । वाणस्य चोदया पविम् ॥
ਹੇ ਸਿੰਧੁ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ੁਸ਼ਮਾ (ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਊਰਜਾਂ) ਉੱਪਰ ਉਠਦੇ ਹਨ; ਦਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਵਾਂਗ ਤੇਰੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਹੈ। ਵਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ—ਰਾਹ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਵਿ (ਧਾਰ/ਧਾਰਦਾਰ ਅੰਚ)—ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾ।
Mantra 2
प्रसवे त उदीरते तिस्रो वाचो मखस्युवः । यदव्य एषि सानवि ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾ ਨਾਲ ਯਜਨ-ਕਾਮੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਣੀਆਂ ਉੱਠਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ; ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਅਵ੍ਯ—ਭੇਡ ਦੀ ਉਨ—ਉੱਤੇ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ (ਛਾਣਨੀ) ਦੀ ਸਾਨੁ/ਕੰਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਲਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
Mantra 3
अव्यो वारे परि प्रियं हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । पवमानं मधुश्चुतम् ॥
ਅਵ੍ਯ ਦੇ ਵਾਰੇ—ਉਨ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ—ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰਿ (ਤਾਮ੍ਰਵਰਨ) ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਹ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਭਿਃ, ਪੀੜਨ-ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਅੱਗੇ ਧੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ—ਪਵਮਾਨ ਸੋਮ, ਮਧੁ ਟਪਕਾਉਂਦਾ।

आ पवस्व मदिन्तम पवित्रं धारया कवे । अर्कस्य योनिमासदम् ॥
ਹੇ ਅਤਿ ਮਦਕਾਰਕ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧਾਰਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆ; ਹੇ ਕਵੀ, ਅਰਕ (ਸਤੁਤੀ) ਦੀ ਯੋਨੀ—ਉਦਭਵ-ਸਥਾਨ—ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸਨ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ।

स पवस्व मदिन्तम गोभिरञ्जानो अक्तुभिः । इन्दविन्द्राय पीतये ॥
ਹੇ ਅਤਿ-ਮਦਪ੍ਰਦ ਪਵਮਾਨ ਸੋਮਾ! ਗੋ-ਕਿਰਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਮਈ ਝਲਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਭਿਸ਼ਿਕਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ। ਹੇ ਇੰਦੁ (ਸੋਮ-ਬੂੰਦ)! ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਨ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਬਣ—ਵਿਜੈਸ਼ੀਲ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ।
It praises Soma while he is being pressed and purified (Pavamāna), describing his powerful sound and sweet flow, and preparing him as a drink for Indra.
