Sukta 8.39
अग्निर्जाता देवानामग्निर्वेद मर्तानामपीच्यम् । अग्निः स द्रविणोदा अग्निर्द्वारा व्यूर्णुते स्वाहुतो नवीयसा नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
agnír jātā́ devā́nām agnír véda mártānām apī́cyam | agníḥ sá draviṇodā́ agnír dvā́rā ví ūrṇute svā́huto navī́yasā nabhantām anyaké samé ||
ਅਗਨੀ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੈ; ਅਗਨੀ ਮਰਤਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੇਦ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਗਨੀ ਦ੍ਰਵਿਣੋਦਾਤਾ, ਸਮ੍ਰਿੱਧੀ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ; ਅਗਨੀ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ—ਸੁਆਹੁਤੀ ਨਾਲ, ਸਦਾ ਨਵੀਂ ਤਾਕਤ ਨਾਲ; ਵੈਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਣ।
