Description of the Threefold Goddess-Power and Brahmā’s Hymn to Sṛṣṭi
Pūrva Bhāga · Devī-stuti: Protection and Auspicious Agency
सर्वगा गतसन्देहा सर्वशत्रुनिबर्हिणी । सर्वविद्येश्वरी देवी नमस्ते स्वस्तिकारिणि ॥
sarvagā gata-sandehā sarva-śatru-nibarhiṇī | sarva-vidyeśvarī devī namas te svastikāriṇi ||
sarvagA gatasaMdehA sarvashatrunibarhiNI | sarvavidyeshvarI devI namaste svastikAriNi
Engkau meliputi segala, bebas daripada keraguan, pemusnah setiap musuh. Wahai Dewi, Engkaulah penguasa segala ilmu—sembah sujud kepada-Mu, wahai pembawa kesejahteraan.
Varāha
Protective, empowering, invoked for well-being (svasti)
Well-being arises from clarity (freedom from doubt) and alignment with protective cosmic order.
Begin actions with auspicious intention and disciplined clarity; remove doubt through study, counsel, and devotion.
Varāha continues protective stuti of Bhū/Devī as all-pervading, doubtless, foe-destroying, and welfare-making.
The hymn fuses epistemic sovereignty (sarva-vidyeśvarī) with kṣātra protection (śatru-nibarhiṇī), implying cosmic order is maintained by both knowledge and power.
‘Svasti-kāriṇī’ echoes Vedic svasti-invocations used at ritual openings/closures; Devī as the auspicious force ensuring rite and world proceed without obstruction.
Freedom from doubt (gata-sandehā) suggests the clarity of higher knowledge; protection is an outward expression of inner certainty and cosmic dharma.
Varāha Purāṇa 90.90 (protective epithets cluster)
It shows the Purāṇic use of epithets as a compact theological-ethical vocabulary, linking knowledge, protection, and welfare.
No place-name occurs in this verse.
The central value is svasti (well-being/auspicious welfare), framed as an ideal outcome of right knowledge and stability of mind.
