रुष्टेन वापि भीषायै गृह्यते चैव यष्टिका ॥ पुत्रहर्तुं न पश्येहं तव निर्वेदकारणम् ॥
ruṣṭena vāpi bhīṣāyai gṛhyate caiva yaṣṭikā || putra hartuṃ na paśyehaṃ tava nirveda-kāraṇam ||
Walau dalam marah atau untuk menakut-nakutkan, tongkat boleh sahaja diangkat; namun, wahai anak, aku tidak melihat di sini apa-apa sebab bagi kezuhudan atau kemurunganmu.
