Sukta 4.1
स त्वं नो अग्नेऽवमो भवोती नेदिष्ठो अस्या उषसो व्युष्टौ । अव यक्ष्व नो वरुणं रराणो वीहि मृळीकं सुहवो न एधि ॥
sá tváṃ no agne’vamó bhavotī́ nédhiṣṭho asyā́ uṣáso vyùṣṭau | áva yakṣva no váruṇaṃ rárāṇo vī́hi mṛḷīkáṃ su-hávo na edhi ||
Maka jadilah bagi kami, wahai Agni, pertolongan yang paling dekat dan paling menjangkau ke bawah—yang terdekat pada saat Fajar ini menghampar. Persembahkanlah bagi kami kepada Varuṇa dengan sukacita; bawalah kurnia, dan engkau yang mudah diseru, suburlah dalam kami dan suburkanlah kami.
