Sukta 10.63
सुत्रामाणं पृथिवीं द्यामनेहसं सुशर्माणमदितिं सुप्रणीतिम् । दैवीं नावं स्वरित्रामनागसमस्रवन्तीमा रुहेमा स्वस्तये ॥
sutrā́māṇaṃ pṛthivī́ṃ dyā́m anehásaṃ suśármāṇam áditiṃ supráṇītim | daivī́ṃ nā́vaṃ svaritrā́m anā́gasam ásravantīm ā́ ruhémā svastáye ||
Crossing/protection trope; apt for svastyayana, journeys, transitions, and inner passage through perilous states
right guidance (supranīti), faultlessness (anāgas), safe crossing as liberation
The ‘faultless, non-leaking’ vehicle implies alignment with Ṛta—energy and action not wasted or distorted.
Supraṇīti (right leading) is the movement of truth in action—guidance by the true law.
Earth–Heaven as the established worlds; Aditi as the infinite matrix that supports and leads evolution upward.
Proto-Vedāntic integralism (Aditi as undivided reality) interpreted through psychological yoga (Aurobindo/Kashyap line).
The crossing of inner waters of uncertainty by a disciplined, grace-supported method that conserves energy and rises toward wholeness.
Invoke stability (earth), wideness (heaven), and integrality (Aditi); visualize embarking on an inner boat that conserves energy and rises.
muladhara (grounding) and ajna/sahasrara (wideness and guidance)
Slow nasal breathing; brief kumbhaka after each pāda to ‘seal’ containment (asravantī)
Quiet confidence with upward aspiration; a protected inner passage.
Before practice, offer the day’s energies to right guidance; watch for ‘leaks’ (dispersion, idle speech, restless desire) and return to contained will.
Notated svaras not provided; chant in a steady Triṣṭubh flow with gentle lift on key invocatory words (pṛthivīm, dyām, aditim, nāvam, svastaye).
Maintain clear word boundaries per padapāṭha: su-trāmāṇam | pṛ-thi-vīm | dyām | a-ne-ha-sam | su-śar-mā-ṇam | a-di-tim | su-pra-ṇī-tim… Emphasize the final cadence on svastaye.
Keep retroflex ṇ in trāmāṇam, supraṇītim, Distinct ś vs s: suśarmāṇam (śa), Long vowels: dyām, nāvam, ruhemā, Consonant clusters: asravantīm (as-ra-van-tīm)
Warm, steady, protective; avoid force—aim for ‘non-harming’ wideness.
