Sukta 10.28
कथा त एतदहमा चिकेतं गृत्सस्य पाकस्तवसो मनीषाम् । त्वं नो विद्वाँ ऋतुथा वि वोचो यमर्धं ते मघवन्क्षेम्या धूः ॥
kathā́ ta etád ahám ā́ ciketáṃ gṛ́tsasya pā́kas taváso manīṣā́m | tváṃ no vidvā́n ṛtuthā́ ví voco yám árdhaṃ te maghavan kṣemyā́ dhūḥ ||
Instructional prayer within Indra-Soma context; emphasizes right timing (ṛtú) of revelation.
Rita/Ṛtu (right order and timing), Kṣema (secure peace as spiritual stability)
Explicit in ṛtuthā: revelation must conform to the lawful rhythm of growth.
Truth is not only content but timing—what is true-for-now to the seeker.
Progressive manifestation of divine intention in the human instrument.
Integral yoga hermeneutic: the gods educate consciousness by graded disclosure.
ṛtu (symbolic: stages of growth)
Season = developmental timing; dwelling = stable inner ground.
Ask inwardly: ‘What is the right next portion for me now?’ Then listen in silence for a simple directive.
ājñā (guidance)
Nadi-śodhana (6 rounds) then chant once, then 3 minutes silent listening.
Receptive, orderly, patient aspiration.
Do not demand total knowledge; accept the ‘portion’ given today and execute it faithfully—this invites the next revelation.
Notated svara unavailable; chant more softly on the questioning first half, slightly lift on ‘vidvān’ and ‘ṛtuthā’.
Let interrogatives carry clarity: kathā | etat; keep ‘maghavan’ resonant at the close.
kathā: aspirated th, ciketam: palatal c, long e, ṛtuthā: syllabic ṛ then tu-thā, kṣemyā: kṣ cluster clean, long ā
Gentle, prayerful, inward.
