Sukta 1.40
त्वामिद्धि सहसस्पुत्र मर्त्य उपब्रूते धने हिते । सुवीर्यं मरुत आ स्वश्व्यं दधीत यो व आचके ॥
tvā́m íd dhi sáhasas-putra mártya upabrūté dháne hité | su-vī́ryaṃ maruta ā́ svaśvyaṃ dádhīta yó va ācaké ||
Kerana Engkaulah, wahai putera Kekuatan, yang diseru insan fana apabila sasarannya ialah perolehan. Wahai Marut, sesiapa yang mendekati kamu menimbun dalam dirinya daya kepahlawanan dan penguasaan yang benar atas kuda-kuda—tenaga yang teratur untuk perjalanan.
