गायत्रेण प्रति मिमीते अर्कमर्केण साम त्रैष्टुभेन वाकम् । वाकेन वाकं द्विपदा चतुष्पदाक्षरेण मिमते सप्त वाणीः ॥

Transliteration

gāyatréṇa práti mimīte arkám arkéṇa sā́ma traiṣṭúbhena vākám | vākéna vākáṃ dvipádā́ cátuṣpadā́kṣáreṇa mimate saptá vā́ṇīḥ ||

Translation

Dengan Gāyatrī ia menyukat madah pujian (arka); dengan arka ia menyukat nyanyian (sāman); dengan Triṣṭubh ia menyukat sabda yang terucap (vāc). Dengan ujaran ia menyukat ujaran—yang berkaki dua dan berkaki empat; dan dengan suku kata yang tidak binasa (akṣara) mereka menyukat tujuh daya ujaran.
