Did not the one who counselled the banishment of my noble brother who is steadfast and bound by truth and virtue, ever adhered to scriptures?(or)My noble brother (Rama), the best among the virtuous, bound to truth, is banished. Let not such thought occur at any time to one who steadfastly adheres to scriptures!
A śāstra-formed intellect must not normalize adharma; truthfulness and noble conduct remain the measure of legitimacy.
Smaraṇa of Rāma’s satya and dharma; cultivating śāstra-aligned buddhi and moral vigilance.
Antaḥkaraṇa-śuddhi: the śāstra-formed buddhi recoils from adharma and seeks purity through truthful self-assessment.
Satyam as the highest support (satyaṃ vada / satyena panthā vitato—general Upaniṣadic valuation of truth).
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa 2.75 (Bharata’s denunciation of the ‘approver’ of exile); Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa 2.68-2.70 (Bharata’s shock and lament on hearing of exile)
Dharmaśāstra ethos: śāstra-anugata buddhi; satya as royal virtue
Ayodhyākāṇḍa: Daśaratha’s boons to Kaikeyī leading to Rāma’s vana-vāsa (2.12-2.18)

Grieving
Anudātta-prāya with soft udatta on satya/satām-śreṣṭha
A śāstra-aligned conscience should not entertain complicity in adharma; Bharata frames truth-bound Rāma as the ethical standard and rejects any association with his unjust exile.
Bharata, defending himself, invokes śāstric morality and rejects the idea that he approved of Rāma’s banishment.
Rāma’s satya (truth-steadfastness) and Bharata’s dhārmic conscience shaped by śāstra.
