परित्यजेयुः पितरो हि पुत्रान्भार्याः पतींश्चापि कृतानुरागाः।कृत्स्नं हि सर्वं कुपितं जगत्स्याद्दृष्ट्वैव रामं व्यसने निमग्नम्।।।।
parityajeyuḥ pitaro hi putrān bhāryāḥ patīṃś cāpi kṛtānurāgāḥ | kṛtsnaṃ hi sarvaṃ kupitaṃ jagat syād dṛṣṭvaiva rāmaṃ vyasane nimagnam ||
Melihat Rama tenggelam dalam bencana, seluruh dunia pasti menyala dengan murka; para bapa akan meninggalkan anak-anak lelaki mereka, dan para isteri—walau setia penuh kasih—akan meninggalkan juga suami-suami mereka.
This entire world will be inflamed to see Rama plunged in adversity. Fathers will abandon their sons. Wives, attached to their husbands, will forsake them.
Dharma is social and public: when a righteous person is unjustly harmed, it destabilizes collective ethics and loyalty, provoking moral outrage and disorder.
Daśaratha predicts sweeping social upheaval if Rama is forced into misfortune.
Rama’s moral authority: his suffering is portrayed as intolerable to society because he embodies righteousness.
