विष्ट्वी शमी तरणित्वेन वाघतो मर्तासः सन्तो अमृतत्वमानशुः । सौधन्वना ऋभवः सूरचक्षसः संवत्सरे समपृच्यन्त धीतिभिः ॥
viṣṭvī́ śámī taraṇitvéna vāgháto mártāsaḥ sánto amṛtatvám ānaśuḥ | saudhanvanā́ ṛ́bhavaḥ sū́ra-cakṣasaḥ saṃvatsaré sám apṛcyanta dhītíbhiḥ ||
योग्य आश्रय मिळवून आणि ‘तरणित्व’—पार जाण्याची शक्ति—यामुळे, गायक जन मर्त्य असूनही अमृतत्वास पोहोचले. सौधन्वन ऋभु, सूर्य-नेत्रधारी, संवत्सर-चक्रात आपल्या धीतिंनी (प्रकाशमय बुद्धींनी) पूर्णपणे एकरूप झाले.
