Sukta 17
ये गर्भा॑ अव॒पद्य॑न्ते॒ जग॒द् यच्चा॑पलु॒प्यते॑ । वी॒रा ये तृ॒ह्यन्ते॑ मि॒थो ब्र॑ह्मजा॒या हि॑नस्ति॒ तान्
yé gárbhā́ avapádyante jágad yác cāpalupyáte | vīrā́ yé tŕ̥hyante mithó brahmajāyā́ hinasti tā́n
What embryos fall away, what living order is marred, and what is lost and swept to ruin; what sons are crushed in mutual strife—those the Brahman’s wife smiteth.
जे गर्भ गळून पडतात, जे जगत्-व्यवस्था (जगत्) बिघडते, आणि जे काही नष्ट होऊन वाहून जाते; जे वीर-पुत्र परस्पर संघर्षात चिरडले जातात—त्यांना ब्रह्मजाया (ब्राह्मणाची पत्नी) आघात करते.
