Transliteration

viṣuve cāyane vāpi kārttikyāṃ tu viśeṣataḥ || yāṃ dattvā mucyate pāpāc chaśāṅka iva rāhuṇā

Translation

ವಿಷುವದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಅಯನದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ತ್ತಿಕ ಮಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ—ಅದನ್ನು ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಪಾಪದಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ; ರಾಹುವಿನಿಂದ ಚಂದ್ರನು ಬಿಡುವಂತೆ.
