ಕುಂಡಿಕಾ ಉಪನಿಷತ್ ಅಥರ್ವವೇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸ ಉಪನಿಷತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಪ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸಾಚಾರ, ವೈರಾಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮವಿದ್ಯೆಯ ಪರಮ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ‘ಕುಂಡಿಕಾ’ (ಜಲಪಾತ್ರ) ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ ಬಾಹ್ಯ ಚಿಹ್ನೆಯಲ್ಲ; ಅಂತಃಶುದ್ಧಿ, ನಿಯಮ, ಅಪರಿಗ್ರಹದ ಪ್ರತೀಕ. ಬಾಹ್ಯ ಗುರುತುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮನೋ-ಇಂದ್ರಿಯ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ, ಸಮತ್ವ, ಅಹಿಂಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಭಾವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತಿಮ ಸಂದೇಶ—ಆತ್ಮನೇ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಎಂಬ ಅನುಭವಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಮೋಕ್ಷ.
