ಈ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕ ಸೂಕ್ತವು ಸರ್ವಸ್ವದ “ವ್ರತ” (ನಿಯಮ/ಆಜ್ಞೆ) ಯ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನಾಗಿ ಸರಸ್ವಂತನನ್ನು ಆವಾಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಆ ವ್ರತದ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋವುಗಳು, ಜಲಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಣೆಯ ಅಧಿಪತಿ (ಪುಷ್ಟಪತಿ) ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದದಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಸರಸ್ವಂತನನ್ನು “ದಾತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಮುಖಮಾಡಿದವನು” ಎಂದು ಕರೆದೊಡ್ಡುವುದರಿಂದ, ಯಜಮಾನನ ಗೃಹಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ, ಗೋಸಂಪತ್ತಿನ ವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ‘ನಿಧಿಗಳ ಆಸನ’ವು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಲಿ; ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆಯೂ ದೊರಕಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಆಶಯವಿದೆ.

ಸರಸ್ವಂತನು—ಯಾವನ ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಶುಗಳು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತವೆಯೋ, ಯಾವನ ವ್ರತದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಆಪಃ (ಜಲಗಳು) ಉಪತಿಷ್ಠಿಸುತ್ತವೆಯೋ; ಯಾವನ ವ್ರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುಷ್ಟಿಪತಿ (ಪೋಷಣೆಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ) ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತನಾಗಿರುವನೋ—ಆ ಸರಸ್ವಂತನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.

ದಾನಕೊಡುವವನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಮುಖಮಾಡಿ ಬಾ—ಉದಾರನಾದ ಸರಸ್ವಂತ, ಪುಷ್ಟಿಪತಿ, ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಧನವಂತ; ಧನದ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ (ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು) ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ರಯಿಗಳ (ಧನಗಳ) ಆಸನವನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
