AV 20.24 ರಿಗ್ವೇದದಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಇಂದ್ರಸ್ತುತಿ; ಯಜ್ಞದತ್ತ ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಮರುಳುಗೊಳಿಸಿ (ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ) ಸೋಮಪಾನಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸೀನನಾಗಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸ್ತುತಿ. ಒಂಬತ್ತು ಅನುಷ್ಟುಭ್ ಛಂದಸ್ಸಿನ ಋಚೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಹಾಲು ಮತ್ತು ಯವ (ಬಾರ್ಲಿ) ಮುಂತಾದ ಮಿಶ್ರಣಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ವರ್ಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಪಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಸೋಮವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಅವನ ಸಾನ್ನಿಧ್ಯವು ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗೆ ಬಲ, ಜಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲ ಸಹಾಯ (ಅವಸ್) ಆಗಲೆಂದು ಬೇಡುತ್ತದೆ.

उप॑ नः सु॒तमा ग॑हि॒ सोम॑मिन्द्र॒ गवा॑शिरम्। हरि॑भ्यां॒ यस्ते॑ अस्म॒युः
ಹೇ ಇಂದ್ರ, ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸಮೀಪವಾಗಿ ಬಾ; ಹಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತವಾದ ಒತ್ತಿದ ಸೋಮ (ಸುತ) ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಎರಡು ಹರಿ (ತವಾಂಯ ಅಶ್ವಗಳು) ಜೊತೆಗೆ—ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಮನಸ್ಕ (ಕೃಪಾಮನಸ್ಸಿನ) ನೀನು.
Mantra 2
तमि॑न्द्र॒ मद॒मा ग॑हि बर्हि॒ष्ठां ग्राव॑भिः सु॒तम्। क॒विन्न्वऽस्य तृ॒प्णवः॑
ಹೇ ಇಂದ್ರ, ಆ ಮದ/ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾ; ಬರ್ಹಿಷ್ (ಪವಿತ್ರ ಕುಶ-ಹುಲ್ಲು) ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ, ಗ್ರಾವ (ಒತ್ತುವ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳು)ಗಳಿಂದ ಪಿಷಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಸೋಮ (ಸುತ) ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಹೇ ಕವಿ (ಋಷಿ-ಸ್ವರೂಪ), ಈಗ ಇದರಿಂದ ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗು.

इन्द्रमि॒त्था गिरो॒ ममाच्छा॑गुरिषि॒ता इ॒तः । आ॒वृते॒ सोम॑पीतये
ಹೀಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಗೀರುಗಳು ಇಂದ್ರನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇರಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟಿವೆ; ಸೋಮಪಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಇತ್ತ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಾ.

इन्द्रं॒ सोम॑स्य पी॒तये॒ स्तोमै॑रि॒ह ह॑वामहे । उ॒क्थेभिः॑ कु॒विदा॒गम॑त्
ಸೋಮಪಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ತೋಮಗಳಿಂದ (ಸ್ತುತಿಗಳಿಂದ) ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಉಕ್ಥಗಳಿಂದ (ವಿಧಿವತ್ ಪಠನಗಳಿಂದ)—ಅವನು ಬಹುಶಃ ಇತ್ತ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬರುವನೇ?

इन्द्र॒ सोमाः॑ सु॒ता इ॒मे तान् द॑धिष्व शतक्रतो । ज॒ठरे॑ वाजिनीवसो
ಓ ಇಂದ್ರನೇ! ಇವು ಒತ್ತಿಹೊರಿಸಿದ ಸೋಮಪಾನಗಳು—ಓ ಶತಕ್ರತು (ನೂರಾರು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳವನೇ), ಓ ವಾಜಿನೀವಸು (ಬಲವೂ ಜಯವೂ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವವನೇ)—ಇವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ನಿನ್ನ ಜಠರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸು.
Mantra 6
वि॒द्मा हि त्वा॑ धनंज॒यं वाजे॑षु दधृ॒षं क॑वे । अधा॑ ते सु॒म्नमी॑महे
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಧನಂಜಯ (ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲುವವನು), ವಾಜಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಧೃಷ್ಟ (ಧೈರ್ಯಶಾಲಿ), ಓ ಕವಿ (ಋಷಿ) ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸುಮ್ನ—ಕೃಪೆ/ಅನುಗ್ರಹ—ವನ್ನು ನಾವು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ.

इ॒ममि॑न्द्र॒ गवा॑शिरं॒ यवा॑शिरं च नः पिब । आ॒गत्या॒ वृष॑भिः सु॒तम्
ಓ ಇಂದ್ರನೇ! ಹಸುವಿನ ಹಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತವೂ, ಯವದಿಂದ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತವೂ ಆದ ಈ (ರಸ)ವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಿಗಾಗಿ ಕುಡಿ; ವೃಷಭಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ (ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರೊಂದಿಗೆ) ಬಂದು, ಈ ಒತ್ತಿಹೊರಿಸಿದ ಸೋಮಪಾನವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿ.

तुभ्येदि॑न्द्र॒ स्व ओ॒क्ये॒३ सोमं॑ चोदामि पी॒तये॑ । ए॒ष रा॑रन्तु ते हृ॒दि
ಹೇ ಇಂದ್ರ, ನಿನ್ನದೇ ಯೋಗ್ಯ ನಿವಾಸ-ಆಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾನಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಸೋಮವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮುಂದೂಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಇದು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಲಿ.

त्वां सु॒तस्य॑ पी॒तये॑ प्र॒त्नमि॑न्द्र हवामहे । कु॒शि॒कासो॑ अव॒स्यवः॑
ಒತ್ತಿದ (ಸುತ) ಸೋಮದ ಪಾನಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ, ಹೇ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಇಂದ್ರ, ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ—ನಾವು ಕುಶಿಕರು, ನೆರವಿಗಾಗಿ ಹಾತೊರೆಯುವವರು.
It is a liturgical Indra-hymn that invites Indra to come back/turn toward the rite and drink the pressed Soma, so his power becomes active help for the patrons.
Milk and barley are classic strengthening admixtures for the Soma offering; the verses use them to describe a rich, inviting draught meant to please and invigorate Indra.
In content it is largely Rigvedic Indra-stuti material, preserved in Atharvaveda Kāṇḍa 20 for liturgical use; it functions more as ritual praise and invitation than as a medical or hostile charm.
