આ સંક્ષિપ્ત, ઋગ્વેદના ઉત્તરકાલીન સૂક્તમાં તપસમાંથી જન્મેલી સૃજનશક્તિને “જન્મ લે” એમ આહ્વાન કરવામાં આવે છે અને સંતાન—ખાસ કરીને ઇચ્છિત પુત્ર—સાથે સમૃદ્ધિ આપવાની પ્રાર્થના કરવામાં આવે છે. દ્રષ્ટા કહે છે કે તેને આ શક્તિનું આંતરિક દર્શન થયું છે: તે ચેતન છે, ઋતુચક્ર મુજબ પરિશ્રમ કરતી અને દેહધારી છે; અને અંતે પ્રથમપુરુષી પ્રકાશનમાં તે પોતાના અંદર નિવાસ કરતી સર્જનકર્ત્રીનું સ્વરૂપ પ્રગટ કરે છે—જે વનસ્પતિઓમાં ભ્રૂણ સ્થાપે છે અને સર્વ લોકોમાં જન્મપ્રક્રિયાને પોષી પ્રસૂતિને ટકાવી રાખે છે.

अपश्यं त्वा मनसा चेकितानं तपसो जातं तपसो विभूतम् । इह प्रजामिह रयिं रराणः प्र जायस्व प्रजया पुत्रकाम ॥
મેં મનથી તને જોયો—ચેતન અને વિવેકી—તપસથી જન્મેલો, તપસથી પ્રગટ થયેલો. અહીં પ્રજાશક્તિમાં અને અહીં રયિ (સમૃદ્ધિ)માં આનંદિત થઈ, હે પુત્રકામ (પુત્રની ઇચ્છા), પ્રજાથી પ્રસવ—જન્મે અને જન્માવ.

अपश्यं त्वा मनसा दीध्यानां स्वायां तनू ऋत्व्ये नाधमानाम् । उप मामुच्चा युवतिर्बभूयाः प्र जायस्व प्रजया पुत्रकामे ॥
મેં મનના દીપ્ત ધ્યાનથી તને જોયો—તારી પોતાની તનુમાં, ઋતુના યોગ્ય કાળે પ્રસવવેદનામાં રહેલી. મારા ઉપર ઊઠી આવ, શક્તિશાળી યુવતિ બની જા; પ્રજાથી પ્રગટ થા, પુત્રકામે—પુત્રની ઇચ્છાવાળી—નવો જન્મ ધારણ કર.

अहं गर्भमदधामोषधीष्वहं विश्वेषु भुवनेष्वन्तः । अहं प्रजा अजनयं पृथिव्यामहं जनिभ्यो अपरीषु पुत्रान् ॥
હું ઔષધિઓમાં ગર્ભ સ્થાપું છું; હું સર્વ ભુવનોની અંદર વ્યાપી રહું છું. હું પૃથ્વી પર પ્રજાને જનમાવું છું; હું જન્મોને દૂર દૂર સુધી પુત્રો પ્રદાન કરું છું.
