Sukta 1.55
सो अर्णवो न नद्यः समुद्रियः प्रति गृभ्णाति विश्रिता वरीमभिः । इन्द्रः सोमस्य पीतये वृषायते सनात्स युध्म ओजसा पनस्यते ॥
só arṇavó na nádyaḥ samudriyáḥ práti gṛbhṇāti ví-śritā vārī́ma-bhiḥ | índraḥ sómasya pītáye vṛṣāyate sanā́t sá yudhmá ójasā panasyate ||
જેમ સમુદ્ર નદીઓને સ્વીકારી લે છે, તેમ તે પોતાના તરફ વિસ્તૃત પ્રવાહોને તેમની વિશાળતા વડે એકત્ર કરે છે. ઇન્દ્ર સોમપાન માટે વીર્યવાન બને છે; પ્રાચીન કાળથી તે યુદ્ધમ, બળમાં આનંદિત થાય છે—વિજયદાયક ઓજસથી તે વધે છે, અને પ્રીતિ પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે.
