Sukta 1.151
मित्रं न यं शिम्या गोषु गव्यवः स्वाध्यो विदथे अप्सु जीजनन् । अरेजेतां रोदसी पाजसा गिरा प्रति प्रियं यजतं जनुषामवः ॥
mitráṃ na yaṃ śimyā́ góṣu gavyávaḥ svā́dhyo vidáthe apsú jī́janan | árejetāṃ ródasī pā́jasā girā́ práti priyáṃ yajatáṃ januṣā́m ávaḥ ||
મિત્ર સમાન—જેમ ગવ્યવઃ, તેજસ્વી ગાયો/ધેનુઓના શોધક, પોતાના પ્રયત્નથી, સ્વાધ્ય (સ્વ-નિયમ) દ્વારા, વિદથમાં અને અપ્સુ (જળોમાં) તેને જન્માવે છે—તેમ તેમની પાજસ (બળ)થી બે લોક, રોદસી (દ્યૌ-પૃથિવી), કંપે છે. ગિરા (વાણી) વડે તેઓ પ્રિય અને યજત એવા યુગલને પ્રતિઉત્તર આપે છે—જન્મથી જ પ્રાણીઓના અવઃ (રક્ષણ/પાલન) રૂપે.
