Transliteration

vṛṣṭíṃ no arṣa divyā́ṃ jigatnúm iḷā́-vatīṃ śaṃ-gayī́ṃ jīrá-dānum | stukā́-iva vītā́ dhanva vi-cínvan bandhū́n imā́ṃ avárā́n indo vāyū́n ||

Translation

Fais couler pour nous la pluie, céleste, victorieuse et prompte au but, riche d’Ilā, porteuse de bien, dispensatrice du don ardent. Tel un trait lancé, cours, ô Indu, discernant et rassemblant ces souffles et courants d’en bas (vāyūn), afin de les élever vers le juste mouvement.
