Sukta 1.32
अहन्वृत्रं वृत्रतरं व्यंसमिन्द्रो वज्रेण महता वधेन । स्कन्धांसीव कुलिशेना विवृक्णाहिः शयत उपपृक्पृथिव्याः ॥
áhan vṛtráṃ vṛtrátaraṃ vyàṃsam índro vájreṇa mahatā́ vadhéna | skándhāṃsīva kúliśenā vívṛkṇā́híḥ śáyata upapṛ́k pṛthivyā́ḥ ||
Indra abatió a Vṛtra — al aún más vṛtra, al que extendía el bloqueo— con el Vajra, con el gran golpe de muerte. Como hombros hendidos por un hacha, la serpiente yacía desgarrada, pegada a la Tierra; el poder de la obstrucción se vino abajo.
