The Sanctity of Gayā: Raibhya’s Encounter and Hymn to Viṣṇu
Gadādhara
Varāha (default speaker per dialogue framework; not explicit in excerpt)
It reflects a Purāṇic pattern of correlating cosmic time (the four yugas) with recognizable iconographic or descriptive markers, functioning as a concise doctrinal-encyclopedic summary typical of Purāṇa literature.
No geographic location is named in this verse; its focus is chronological (yuga-based) description rather than sacred geography.
The verse presents a philosophical instruction centered on respectful homage (praṇāma) toward the described deity-form, framing it as conducive to well-being (sukha) in one’s life.
